We are fortunate to have attractive grounds surrounding the church buildings. At the centre front there is a remembrance area around a cross, also at the front is the Peace and Prayer Garden. Down both sides there is car parking for about 30 cars, plus 3 spaces for disabled people, close to the access ramps. At the rear there is a bowling green. To use the bowling green you need to join the bowling club. The Peace and Prayer Garden was created by a group of international volunteers from Youth Action for Peace (now Volunteer Action for Peace). They spent a week working with some people from the church and living on the premises in August 2007. The Garden was created to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Timperley Methodist Church being in its current location. Pictures of the creation of the park can be found by clicking here. The stepping stone path is in the shape of a dove's head. We invite the public to spend some time sitting in the bench to reflect, pray or just relax for a while. The grounds are maintained by professional ground maintanence contractors with help from Church volunteers and other members of the community who donate time and plants. Please contact Christine Elliott if you have any questions or concerns about the grounds, or would like to offer some time or resources to help maintain or improve them. |
